Everton have been linked with Red Bull Salzburg’s Hannes Wolf.

According to a report in The Mirror, Everton are lining up a move for Red Bull Salzburg’s exciting young forward Hannes Wolf following his breakout season at the Austrian club.
The Toffees are keen to strengthen their squad this summer under newly-appointed manager Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands, and targeting young players is exactly the right way to go.
Everton made the mistake of trying to bring in established top-quality players too soon last summer, spending big fees and subsequent wages on the likes of Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The problem with doing that is both players have little re-sale value, and with the rest of the team not yet up to scratch, the impact they have had has been very small at what can only be described as a huge cost.

Everton must follow in the footsteps of Tottenham Hotspur if they are to emulate the north London club – bringing in youngsters with huge quality, selling them on when the time is right then reinvesting in the team.
Spurs’ rise to become a regular top four club hasn’t happened overnight, and it won’t for Everton either so their best shot of reaching their goal is to target Europe’s finest young players and go from there.
Wolf was terrific for Salzburg last term, scoring 12 goals and grabbing a further eight assists. The Mirror claims the 19-year-old attacking midfielder has attracted the interest of several other top clubs.

Everton beating the competition to his signature would be a real statement and signing him would show how they have learned from their previous transfer blunders 12 months ago which only took them backwards.
The Austrian teenager linking up with Tom Davies, Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin would give the Toffees a great base to start building towards the future.
