Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form this season.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman says convincing striker Romelu Lukaku to stick around at Goodison Park for another season was the club’s best piece of business in the summer, The Telegraph report.
The Belgium international has made no secret of his desire to play for a Champions League club fighting for titles and many tipped him to follow John Stones out of Everton during the summer.
However, the arrival of Koeman from Southampton coupled with the financial promise laid down by owner Farhad Moshiri seemingly demonstrated a new level of ambition on Merseyside.

Lukaku subsequently decided to remain for at least one more year, and Koeman now believes his striker sticking around was the best thing that happened to the club in the summer.
“Yes that (keeping Lukaku) was the most significant thing that happened in the summer,” the Everton boss told The Telegraph.
“We try to be prepared because he will not play (for Everton) for always. He is a big striker who will always generate interest from big clubs and from bigger clubs than Everton is but the boy is 23 and he took the right decision to stay. He can improve and he needs to improve.”

Lukaku has made an excellent start to the current campaign, scoring seven goals in eight league starts.
The 23-year-old’s solid form has coincided with Everton’s start to the season as the Toffees currently sit in the top six and only a matter of points behind league leaders Manchester City.
Lukaku will no doubt have a number of Europe’s elites monitoring his progress this season, and it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see him depart Goodison Park should Everton finish outside the top four come next May.
