Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 4-2 at Selhurst Park this weekend.

Former player and current pundit Rio Ferdinand took to social media site Twitter in order to praise Liverpool’s attacking qualities as they defeated Crystal Palace 4-2 at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.

The Reds have scored an abundance of goals this season and they carried on with their attacking intentions at Palace, breaking at real pace and causing Alan Pardew’ side all kinds of problems.

In an entertaining opening 45 minutes, Liverpool scored three times through Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip while at the other end their defensive frailties saw Palace’s James McArthur net twice.

Jurgen Klopp’s men finally put the game to bed in the second period as Roberto Firmino added a fourth, yet it could have been much more comfortable for Liverpool as they created numerous opportunities.

Writing on Twitter, Ferdinand was particularly impressed with the Reds’ quick counterattacks while reserving special praise for the ever threatening Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool had as many as 17 efforts on goal throughout the 90 minutes, and their four goals in South London takes their goal tally to an impressive 24 in ten matches to date.

With better defensive organisation and an injury-free run, many observers feel the Merseyside club have what it takes to end their long wait and lift the Premier League title this season.

Up next for Liverpool is an improving Watford side at home before the November international break.
