Everton need to add more goals to their midfield this summer.

According to a report by Tuttomercatoweb, Villarreal attacking midfielder Roberto Soriano could make a £13 million return to Italy as both Sampdoria and Lazio are keen on signing him.
The 27-year-old was considered one of the bargain buys of the 2016/17 Spanish top-flight season as Villarreal pipped a number of top clubs to his signature.
With nine goals and five assists from midfield in 31 La Liga starts, his excellent debut campaign at Villarreal prompted interest from Atletico Madrid and champions Barcelona, according to Diario Sport.
But a struggling second campaign, largely due to spells out with injury and an inconsistent term from the team, has seen Soriano tipped for an exit this summer and Everton should see him as a real bargain opportunity.

The Toffees are in desperate need of adding more goals to the team, especially from midfield as big-money addition Gylfi Sigurdsson was their top-scoring midfielder last season with a measly four strikes.
Oumar Niasse, Cenk Tosun and Wayne Rooney lead the team’s scoring charts, yet with the latter linked with a move to the MLS, the club could find themselves in an even weaker position offensively.
Newly-appointed manager Marco Silva will be tasked with providing a more entertaining style of football and a greater goal threat, but in order to do so he will have to spend money this summer.

At £13 million, Soriano represents a potential bargain in today’s market and the Italy international has a history of finding the net from midfield, scoring eight goals and posting four assists for Sampdoria in the 2015/16 campaign prior to his move to Villarreal.
Everton had an awful summer transfer window last time out as their heavy-spending scatter-gun approach failed, so this time around they need to specifically target areas of the squad which needs improving.
Soriano predominantly features as a central midfielder but he also offers plenty of versatility, capable of playing out wide left or in behind the striker in a number 10 role.
