Everton have been linked with Porto defender Ivan Marcano.

According to a fresh report by Gianluca Di Marzio, AS Roma are said to be in advanced talks with Porto defender Ivan Marcano over a potential switch to the eternal city this summer.
The experienced defender is out of contract this summer and set to leave Porto on a free transfer, prompting Roma to make their move as they look to beat off competition for his signature.
The former Villarreal man has attracted plenty of suitors over the past 12 months, including Premier League side Everton who were reportedly interested in doing a deal for him last summer.
A report in Portuguese editorial A Bola reported in September that the Merseysiders made a last-gasp summer move for the Porto man, while O Jogo cited a fresh attempt for him during the January transfer window.

if Everton still have plans to bring him to Goodison Park, they’re now in a race against time as Gianluca Di Marzio report how a deal with Roma looks increasingly likely following talks with the player’s agent.
Marcano is capable of playing at both centre-back and left-back, and his versatility would be a huge asset to have at Everton as there is no doubt the Merseyside club need to strengthen at the back this summer.
The Toffees have struggled at the back, and despite the arrival of Sam Allardyce, the defence was still shaky towards the end of the campaign with three goals conceded on the final day at West Ham United.

Marcano has Champions League experience, and unlike Ashley Williams or big-money signing Michael Keane, he has had a consistent campaign at Porto helping the club win the Portuguese league title.
Interest in the Spaniard isn’t exactly surprising, but recent reports suggest if Everton have any plans of reigniting their interest in him, then they must make a move now before he decides on a switch elsewhere.
