West Bromwich Albion have been linked with Brice Dja Djedje.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion are discussing a loan deal with Marseille for their talented right-back Brice Dja Djedje.
The report claims that the Baggies are not so keen on buying players permanently this month, with boss Tony Pulis instead looking at loans with the option of a permanent deal in the summer.
Djedje, an Ivory Coast international, is a talented full-back who offers pace, strength and concentration in defending – attributes very much suited to Premier League football.
However, he has lost his place at Marseille to former Liverpool loanee Javier Manquillo and his situation in the south of France has prompted speculation over his future.
Marseille are said to be willing to sell Djedje this month, although West Brom boss Pulis will be seeking a temporary deal in the first instance.
The West Midlands side are looking pretty comfortable in the table at present, occupying 13th position and six points above Newcastle United in the relegation zone.
Bringing in players on loan now with a view to a summer deal is smart, as it allows the Baggies to take a good look at the player before making any decision in regards to a full transfer.
Djedje, 25, would offer West Brom athleticism at the back and he would arguably come in as the club’s only natural right-back with Pulis seemingly content with centre-backs playing out wide to date.
