Everton missed out on a number of key targets during the summer.

Wealthy Everton investor Farhad Moshiri is said to be unhappy with the club’s transfer business during the summer after missing out on a number of key transfer targets, the Mirror reports.
The Toffees experienced an eventful summer as Ronald Koeman was named as the club’s new manager, and the former Southampton boss was promised hefty funds to improve the squad.
Players such as Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie arrived at Goodison Park yet the club also missed out on a number of top stars.

France international Moussa Sissoko opted to join Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day instead of Everton, while the Toffees also saw attempts to sign Manolo Gabbiadini, Lamine Kone and Axel Witsel fall short.
Major shareholder Farhad Moshiri was hopeful of making a big statement, yet instead the Mirror reports how the the British-Iranian businessman is now asking probing questions as to why such deals did not materialise.

Despite Yannick Bolasie joining from Crystal Palace in a club record fee, many supporters feel the club underachieved somewhat on the transfer front leaving Koeman with plenty of work to do.
The Toffees have, however, started the campaign well with victories over West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City plus a draw with Tottenham leaving them with seven points from nine.
