Torino are reportedly keen on Genoa’s Armando Izzo, linked with West Ham United.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Torino have made a late move for Genoa defender Armando Izzo who has also been heavily linked with a move to Premier League side West Ham United.
The report claims the player has been the subject of heavy interest from both Sassuolo and West Ham with the latter holding talks, but now Torino have made a late move with the player’s agent set to meet with the Turin-based club.
The Hammers have been keen to strengthen their defence following the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini as manager, with Issa Diop already joining the club in a big-money move from French side Toulouse.
Genoa’s Izzo has been singled out as another target for Pellegrini, and a recent report by Italian newspaper Secolo XIX claimed West Ham representatives had travelled to Italy for talks over a £12 million deal.

Izzo made only 16 Serie A starts last season, but when being called upon he impressed for Genoa as he looked strong in the tackle and calm in possession when bringing the ball out of defence.
With West Ham in need of bolstering their defence after losing 4-1 an incredible four times in their last 11 Premier League games, Izzo represents a sound option but they now may end up missing out.

The 26-year-old appears in high demand and Torino, having enjoyed a solid campaign in Serie A, would be a step up for the player and an opportunity to test himself at a higher level.
If the Hammers wish to complete a deal for the player, they may have to make some adjustments to their original reported offer or move quickly as it seems the commanding centre-back is set for a transfer any day now.
