Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Sevilla’s transfer chief Monchi.

According to the latest news from Spanish newspaper AS, Monchi is negotiating his exit from Sevilla and has all-but given his word on agreeing a switch to Manchester United in the coming days.
The Spanish report claims that Monchi is currently at Sevilla’s Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium going over the final details of his exit while United’s offer is deemed to good to turn down.
The Red Devils are set for an exciting summer on the transfer front following Jose Mourinho’s arrival as manager – the former Chelsea boss replacing the recently sacked Louis van Gaal.

Mourinho is the sort of name which could attract Europe’s best talent, yet arguably an even bigger coup on the transfer front will be the seemingly impending arrival if Sevilla’s transfer guru Monchi.
The former player has been with Sevilla for 27 years, retiring at the club following a ten-year playing stint and immediately moving in to an advisory role and later the club’s sporting director.
The La Liga side have become a top European club since the turn of the millennium, winning an unprecedented five Europa League titles including the last three in succession.

While plenty of praise must go in the way of boss Unai Emery, arguably the real mastermind has been Monchi as player recruitment has played such a huge role in the club’s recent success.
Players such as Dani Alves, Ivan Rakitic, Adriano, Seydou Keita, Alvaro Negredo, Aleix Vidal and Carlos Bacca have all been bought for peanuts and sold for huge sums, yet the club’s success continues.
United have been heavily criticised for their recruitment policy over the past few seasons, yet with Monchi at the club and backed by a huge budget, the club will undoubtedly have an exciting future ahead.
