Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp is reportedly set to sign a new contract.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp is set to put pen-to-paper on a new two-and-a-half-year deal following weeks of negotiations.
Sharp re-joined Sheffield United in a £500,000 deal back in 2015 from Leeds United and he has been in instrumental form this term as Chris Wilder’s men seek to return to the Premier League after 12 years out.
The striker has netted an impressive 22 goals, including a recent hat-trick as United surrendered a 3-0 lead at Aston Villa to draw in what was one of the season’s best games of the Championship to date.
Sharp is an extremely popular figure at Bramall Lane, scoring over 100 goals for the club and despite his age he still has plenty to offer in the coming seasons.

Wilder’s men are currently second in the Championship table, two points behind leaders Norwich City and just ahead of Leeds United on goal difference although the Whites have played a game less.
Sharp’s ability in front of goal and his experience could prove key in the season run-in. Securing his future at the club now will only motivate him further to help the Yorkshire club return to the top flight.
