Preston North End have been linked with Derby County’s Max Lowe.

According to a report in the Lancashire Post, Preston North End are unlikely to make another move for Derby County’s Max Lowe after the Rams turned down their initial bid last week.
It is stated that Preston bid for Lowe as they seek to bring in a new left-back before the transfer deadline after allowing Josh Earl to move out on loan. Derby, however, have snubbed their offer.
The Rams have an abundance of left-backs on their books and it is questionable whether Lowe will get much first-team action at Pride Park should he remain at the club beyond the transfer deadline.
Scott Malone is likely to start the season as Phillip Cocu’s number one left-back, but Craig Forsyth’s return from injury strengthens competition for places while youngster Calum MacDonald is also an option.
Lowe started the opening two games of last season under then manager Frank Lampard. However, he lacked first-team experience and Derby felt it best to send him out on loan to Aberdeen.
The 22-year-old impressed north of the border, returning to Aberdeen in January for the remainder of the season as he went on to make 33 Scottish Premiership appearances over two spells.

Derby may feel another loan spell would benefit Lowe this season, but it is suggested in the Lancashire Post that Preston’s bid may have been a permanent offer which perhaps explains why the Rams turned them down.
North End started their Championship campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Millwall whereas Derby face Huddersfield Town in Yorkshire on Monday night in their season opener.
