Millwall have been linked with Huddersfield Town’s Jack Payne.

According to a report in The Sun, Millwall are plotting a £500,000 move for Huddersfield Town’s Jack Payne following his impressive performances on loan at League One side Bradford City.
The report claims Payne has made a big impression during his season-long loan at Bradford, alerting the attentions of Luton Town and Peterborough as fellow League One sides line up for his signature.
With Payne’s contract running out at the end of the season, it is said that Millwall are hopping Huddersfield can cut his loan deal at Bradford short in order to sanction his transfer to The Den this month.
Millwall have bolstered their Championship survival hopes by winning three games on the bounce, including a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over bottom club Ipswich Town in their last outing at Portman Road.
The Lions don’t have the biggest budget in the league, therefore their success has been a result of some astute moves in the transfer market and buying talented players out of favour elsewhere.

Defender Jake Cooper arrived from Reading for a moderate fee 18 months ago and is now considered one of their better players, with Rangers seeing a £3 million bid for him turned down last summer (London Evening Standard).
Payne has the potential to be a similar signing for Millwall, and manager Neil Harris will know that bringing him in now could be his best bet with teams likely to target signing him on a free next summer.
The 24-year-old came through the youth ranks at Southend United before joining Huddersfield in 2016, but he made just 23 league appearances for the Yorkshire club before falling out of favour.
