Leicester City have been linked with Ahmed Musa.
CSKA Moscow boss Leonid Slutskiy claims Leicester City have made a bid in the region of £23 million for talented forward Ahmed Musa, Sky Sports report.
The Foxes have money to spend this summer after qualifying for next season’s edition of the Champions League, and it appears a new top quality striker is high on their list of priorities.
Speaking to reporters regarding their interest in Musa, CSKA boss Slutskiy claims the East Midlands club have recently launched a club record offer for his services.
“The British club offered a bit less than €30m (£22.86m). Musa came to me a few days ago and asked when he [Ranieri] is back for the holidays and I told him I do not know, I do not know Ranieri,” Sky Sports quote the Russian boss as saying.
Leicester’s stock across Europe has risen dramatically over the past few months following their incredible Premier League title win, and now they will be able to attract players of the highest calibre.
However, boss Claudio Ranieri has strongly hinted that he won’t be bringing in any big-name signings this summer, and instead focusing on strengthening his side with players of similar mould.
Musa, 23, is a pacey forward who netted 18 goals and added a further six assists in 44 games this past year.
The Nigeria international is currently away on international duty, yet through his manger’s comments it appears the Russian title winner is keen to talk to Leicester over a potential move to the East Midlands.
