Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City have been linked with James Wilson.
According to Sky Sports (live transfer thread, July 21st 2016 at 18:27), Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City are all keen to sign Manchester United youngster James Wilson.
The report claims that while Wilson has been omitted from United’s pre-season tour, the club feel he still has a future at Old Trafford and he will stay in the North West to undertake a separate preparation schedule.
Wilson is a United academy graduate, coming through the club’s youth ranks and making his Old Trafford debut against Hull City at the end of the 2013-14 campaign, scoring twice in a 3-1 win.
He has since been on the peripherals of the United first-team squad, struggling to break in before joining Brighton and Hove Albion on loan last November until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old scored five goals in 25 Championship matches for the Seagulls, helping the club finish third in the table but ultimately crashing out of the playoffs with a semi-final defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Wilson is expected to struggle to break in to the Red Devils first-team this coming season, and another loan switch either to a fellow Premier League side or back to the Championship would make sense.
Swansea, West Brom and Hull are all said to be keen on his services – three clubs who no doubt will be looking to bolster their attacking ranks before the Premier League season begins next month.
The Baggies may be looking for a replacement for the coveted Saido Berahino, while both the Swans and the Tigers have been relatively quiet so far this summer on the transfer front.
Wilson, an England under-21 international, needs game-time in order to progress and Sky Sports adds Jose Mourinho‘s side could be willing to let him go out and gain more experience.
