Celtic have been linked with Hibernian midfielder John McGinn.

According to a report in the Daily Record, St Mirren are due 33 percent of the overall transfer fee should Hibernian sell midfielder John McGinn this summer as a result of a sell-on clause.
Celtic have been linked with a move for the talented midfielder this summer, with the report in the Daily Record citing a potential transfer fee in the region of £5 million.
Should the Hoops splash out on the 23-year-old, St Mirren would receive as much as £1.66m which could go some way to helping the recently crowned Scottish Championship champions survive in the top-flight.

The gap between Scotland’s top-flight and second tier is fairly wide, therefore such a cash windfall could give the Paisley-based club a fighting chance of preserving their top-flight status at the first attempt.
Celtic have plenty of options in midfield but signing McGinn this summer could be in their best interests with the Hibernian favourite likely to have attracted interest south of the border.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is a big fan of the Hibs player, and he recently told the Daily Record that he believes McGinn is currently the second-best midfielder in Scotland as he encourages his former club to sign him.
“Outside of Brown, he’s been the best and most influential player in the Premiership this season. Lennon has built a cracking team at Easter Road and McGinn is the hearbeat of it,” Sutton said.
The seven-capped Scotland international has a big future ahead of him, and as he comes from a Celtic background it seems that a switch to Celtic park would make sense for all parties involved.
