Chelsea are keen on signing Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
According to the Sun, Chelsea will offer cash plus Loic Remy and Asmir Begovic for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
The report claims that Chelsea have already seen an offer worth £65 million turned down for the Belgian interntional, and now they are willing to part exchage in order to match Everton’s asking price.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht back in 2011, yet his dream switch to Stamford Bridge didn’t work out as well as planeed as he soon struggled to break in to the starting eleven.
Loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton ensured, and he opted to join the latter in 2014.
Now, two years and 28 Premier League goals on, Chelsea are seemingly desperate to re-sign the 23-year-old and the feeling is mutual as Lukaku seeks a return to the capital.
So far the club’s attempts have fallen short, largely due to Everton’s increased valuation of the player as the Merseyside club are now in a financial position of power to reject such heavy bids.
But the Sun’s latest report suggests the Blues aren’t willing to back down, and by offering Remy and Begovic as part exchange they feel they can tempt the Toffees into selling their prize asset.
With Ronald Koeman’s men in need of a reliable number one and Remy possessing the capability to find the net on a regular basis in the top-flight, perhaps Everton will feel this is an offer simply too good to turn down.
