Bournemouth have been linked with Brentford’s Chris Mepham.

According to The Sun, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will make a fresh January bid for Brentford’s Chris Mepham, after failing to sign the defender in £10 million summer swoop.
The report goes on to say that Brentford will demand a huge fee for the young centre-back, but Bournemouth are intent on signing him as they see him as a perfect fit for the Vitality Stadium.
Mepham came through the youth ranks at Brentford and has been one of the Bees’ best players this season, starting all 12 Championship fixtures.
With Brentford aiming for promotion to the Premier League this season, and 20-year-old Mepham with three-and-a-half years left on his existing deal, the London club will no doubt hold out for a big fee.
Bournemouth have made an excellent start to their Premier League campaign, and underlined their top-half ambitions with a 4-0 win over Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Mepham, a Wales international, has enormous potential and will play in the Premier League sooner or later, although with Brentford edging nearer a promotion charge he may have his sights set on staying at Griffin Park and helping his boyhood club reach the top-flight for the first time since the 1940s.
