Brighton and Hove Albion have been linked with Bournemouth’s Glenn Murray.
According to Sky Sports (live transfer centre, July 2nd 2016 at 21:52), Brighton and Hove Albion have opened talks with Bournemouth’s Glenn Murray over a potential loan switch to the Amex Stadium.
The Seagulls are looking at bolstering their striker ranks this summer as they look to improve on their third-place finish in the Championship last campaign and earn promotion this coming season.
Murray, 32, knows the club well having had a previous spell with the south coast side and his record in the Championship is excellent having won a promotion with rivals Crystal Palace.
After falling out of favour with the Eagles despite helping the club consolidate in the top-flight, Murray moved to Bournemouth 12 months ago in a deal worth a reported £4 million (Sky Sports).
However, arrivals of fellow strikers Benik Afobe and Lewis Grabban during the January transfer window meant Murray soon found first-team opportunities hard to come by with the Cherries.
After just ten Premier League appearances last term, questions surrounding his future at Bournemouth have been asked and an inevitable drop back down to the Championship level could be on the cards.
Sky Sports state Brighton are in talks to sign him on a season-long loan and a deal could be finalised within 24 hours, though there is no mention of a potential option of a permanent switch next summer.
Murray netted 54 times in 118 league appearances during his first spell at Brighton, though not many supporters at the Amex have quite forgiven him for trading the club for Palace in 2011.
