According to a report in The Sun, Bournemouth have made an £8 million offer for Kuban Krasnodar playmaker Viktor Claesson, after the player impressed at the 2018 World Cup.

The 26-year-old was part of the Swedish squad which topped their group, containing both Germany and Mexico, ultimately reaching the quarter-finals where they were eliminated by England.

Claesson has grown in stature over the past 12 months and following a terrific club campaign, where he netted ten goals and grabbed a further eight assists in 30 games. He now seems ready for a big move.

Bournemouth have been busy moving players out this summer with the likes of Benik Afobe, Lewis Grabban, Max Gradel and Adam Federici departing, while only two players have arrived.

Diego Rico joined the Cherries from Leganes, while David Brooks arrived from Sheffield United. although it remains to be seen whether the talented Welsh youngster is ready for first-team action in the Premier League.

It seems Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is looking for established players to round off his summer spending, and Claesson fits the part as the Krasnodar Player of the Year, 26, is entering his prime footballing years.
