Bournemouth have been linked with Sheffield United’s David Brooks.

According to a report in The Sun, Bournemouth have launched a £12 million bid for Sheffield United’s David Brooks while also making an improved offer for Brentford’s Chris Mepham.
The Cherries are keen to bolster their squad this summer as they look to further establish themselves in the Premier League, and boss Eddie Howe seemingly has one eye on the future by moving for Brooks.
The Sheffield United ace may not be ready for Premier League football right now, but at 20 years of age he boasts plenty of potential and has time on his side to really make an impact in the top-flight.
The Wales international is widely regarded as one of the country’s best talents since Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, and he has shown plenty of promise over the past 12 months.

Despite making just nine starts for Sheffield United, Brooks managed three goals and four assists making him one of the most effective midfielders outside the Premier League on a goals-per-starts ratio.
The Bournemouth manager has given opportunities to younger players in the Premier League, having previously signed England U21 international Lewis Cook from Leeds United, gradually bringing him in to the first-team picture.
Brooks has plenty of raw ability and the potential to star in the top-flight, therefore Sheffield United will want to hold out for as much as they can get, and will no doubt insist on a lucrative sell-on clause.

Sheffield United’s Brooks hasn’t been quite as effective in his debut season in the Championship as Maddison, but if such a fee is the benchmark, then the Yorkshire club will look to negotiating a fee probably higher than the £12m quoted.
