Blackburn Rovers have been linked with Middlesbrough’s Harry Chapman.

According to a report in the Gazette, Blackburn Rovers are weighing up a move for Middlesbrough’s Harry Chapman after impressing on a previous loan spell at Ewood Park.
The Boro attacking midfielder’s contract at the Riverside Stadium expires in the summer. Blackburn must decide whether to go in for him now for a cheaper fee or wait until the summer.
Chapman spent last season on loan at Blackburn, impressing manager Tony Mowbray. Despite suffering from injuries, he managed to make 16 appearances as Rovers won promotion from League One.
It is said Blackburn tried to sign the 21-year-old in the summer, though they couldn’t finalise a deal and now Mowbray is considering going in for him again ahead of the upcoming January transfer deadline.
Chapman has yet to feature for Boro in the Championship. He has featured in cup competition, with his latest cameo being a 15-minute spell off the bench in the 5-0 FA Cup third round thrashing over Peterborough.

The Boro academy product has played for the England youth teams, but he has had a hard time trying to push through at the Riverside Stadium with plenty of competition for places.
Tony Pulis has a host of midfield options with Mo Besic, Paddy McNair, Jonny Howson, George Saville, Adam Clayton and new signing John Obi Mikel all looking to establish themselves as regular first-teamers.
