According to Spanish publication AS, Barcelona are looking at signing Southampton’s Cedric Soares.
The Spanish paper claims that the La Liga champions sent technical advisers and scouts over to watch the talented fullback in action against Inter Milan in midweek, yet he ultimately didn’t feature.
Soares joined the Saints from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2015, signing a four-year deal with the club.

He soon became a regular under then boss Ronald Koeman, going on to make 24 Premier League appearances and helping the club achieve an impressive top-six finish.
The 25-year-old then went on to compete at the European Championships, topping off an impressive 12 months as Portugal lifted the trophy by beating France 1-0 in the final.
Soares’ impressive performances over the past 12 months has prompted speculation over his future, and now it appears Catalan giants Barcelona are beginning to step up their interest.

A report in AS claims representatives for the Spanish club were present at St. Mary’s Stadium in midweek as they hoped to watch the right-back in action against Inter Milan in the Europa League.
However, boss Claude Puel surprisingly left him out, seemingly keeping him fresh for the Premier League fixture against struggling Hull City this weekend.
Iconic right-back Dani Alves opted to leave Barcelona for Juventus in the summer, leaving Luis Enrique’s side somewhat short of options in that area with Soares potentially identified as his long-term replacement.
