Manchester City have been linked with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

According to The Sun, Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere is now Manchester City’s number one transfer target.
The report claims that new City boss Pep Guardiola wants to bulk up his squad with top English talent and after signing Ilkay Gundogan he now places Wilshere at the top of his wish-list.
Wilshere has struggled over the past few years with injuries, and this past season he only made brief appearances towards the end of the campaign after damaging his knee in pre-season.

The England international is undoubtedly one of the Premier League’s brightest players on his day, yet remaining injury free has been his biggest downfall in recent seasons.
Arsenal have opted to bulk up their midfield during his absence, what with Mohamed Elneny joining in January and Granit Xhaka set to arrive in London when the transfer window opens.
It means the Gunners now have a range of options in central midfield, suggesting that Wilshere’s place in the starting eleven isn’t assured even if he manages to rediscover his best form and remain injury free.

City are in need of adding more English players with Joe Hart, Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling the only English-born players to feature in the league for the Citizens over the past 12 months.
Wilshere, 24, has plenty of time on his side to return to his very best and perhaps a change of scene under different training regimes could help him overcome his injury woes.
