Arsenal, West Ham United and Everton have been linked with Chelsea’s Ola Aina.
According to a report in the Mirror, Arsenal are among a number of teams looking at Chelsea youngster Ola Aina with his deal set to expire this summer.
The newspaper name Arsenal, West Ham United and Everton among the suitors and say the Gunners are considering taking advantage of his contract situation in West London.
“Arsenal have joined the hunt for Chelsea youngster Ola Aina. The Gunners are among a clutch of clubs tracking the promising England under-21 defender and considering trying to exploit his Chelsea contract wrangle,” the report states.
Aina has been on the books of Chelsea for some time and came through the club’s youth ranks, impressing the club’s coaches with a maturity beyond his years.
However, the 19-year-old’s future at the club looks bleak as his contract winds down to its termination in the summer amid a lack of first-team opportunities.
The Blues currently boast a huge squad following heavy investment in a number of top youngsters. While it allows the club to harvest the best talent, heavy competition for places can hinder progression.
Arsenal are renowned for their part in player development and right-back Aina represents a sound option with Mathieu Debuchy’s time at the Emirates Stadium drawing to a close.
Everton and the Hammers are also said to be keen, with the latter in dire need of defensive additions as their only senior right-back is Carl Jenkinson, currently on loan from Arsenal.
Aina is an England under-21 international and is regarded as a big talent for the future.
