Derby County’s Craig Bryson is expected to leave the club this summer.

Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson is largely expected to leave the club this summer and one club who should do their utmost to sign him is Scottish Premiership side Rangers.
The Gers are set for an interesting summer as newly-appointed boss Steven Gerrard looks to mould a squad capable of challenging Old Firm rivals and treble-chasers Celtic for domestic honours next term.
The former England international may now be the standout figure in Scotland giving Rangers a possible advantage in the transfer market, yet convincing top-quality players to move to Ibrox will still be a big challenge.
Rangers’ best option is to sign young players with potential, possibly via loan deals, or acquire experienced players who are out of favour at their current club and willing to give their last ounce of talent at Ibrox.

Bryson fits in with the latter description, yet at 31 years of age he certainly has more than one season left as a quality player and his attributes would no doubt make a big difference to Scottish club.
The former Kilmarnock man is a full international and has recently played a role in Cardiff City’s promotion from the Championship to the Premier League, featuring in 22 league matches including the season finale.
It’s unlikely Bryson will make his loan spell at Cardiff permanent now they are in the Premier League, while at Derby manager Gary Rowett must get players off the wage bill to make room for new signings.

Bryson, with his contract set to expire in 2019 at Pride Park, is a prime candidate to leave and considering his deal only has a year left on it then the Rams won’t be expecting a big fee for his services.
The midfielder has an abundance of energy and has a knack of finding the net when played further forward – scoring 20 goals and grabbing 16 assists over the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns under Steve McClaren.
Gerrard has a goal scoring midfielder in Gers ace Josh Windass but adding Bryson to that mix could give him plenty more options and a player, who like Gerrard, gives absolutely everything for the cause.
