Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty scored twice against Motherwell, as the teams fought out a 3-3 draw at Fir Park.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard says Kyle Lafferty’s two goals against Motherwell was exactly why the club re-signed him this summer. Gerrard lauded the striker’s ability to find the net, Sky Sports report.
Lafferty only signed for Rangers this past week as he traded Hearts for Ibrox, signing a two-year deal. Lafferty previously spent four years at the club between 2008 and 2012. He scored 38 times in 138 appearances for the Scottish Premiership title challengers during his first spell, but Laferty has become a better player since then and has the capabilities to reach greater heights.
Lafferty showed what he is all about by netting twice at Fir Park, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to hand Rangers all three points as Motherwell salvaged a point with an equaliser at the death.
Talking to reporters after the game, Gerrard said Lafferty’s goals were exactly the reason why the club opted to bring him back to Ibrox this summer, amid scepticism from a few supporters over his return.
“As for Lafferty. That’s exactly why we brought him here. We knew he was capable of scoring important goals and a volume of goals in this league,” the former Liverpool skipper told Sky Sports.

Lafferty’s ability to score goals and help get the best out of fellow striker Alfredo Morelos could play a pivotal role in the Gers’ bid to overthrow Celtic as Scotland’s number one side right now.
The 6ft 4inch striker is turning 31 next month and in the prime of his career. Rangers could see the best of him over the next two years.
