Blackburn Rovers host Derby County in the Championship this weekend.

Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has identified Derby County’s attacking threats ahead of Tuesday’s encounter and believes summer signing Duane Holmes has been a fantastic addition, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
“They have a lot of speed, athleticism, youthfulness, (Harry) Wilson, (Mason) Mount, players who have built big reputations for themselves this season. Tom Lawrence off one side, and Duane Holmes who they brought in from Scunthorpe has done fantastically well and fits in to those quick, sharp, intelligent footballers they have at the top end of the pitch,” Mowbray explained.
Derby head to Ewood Park looking for a first away win in the Championship since a 4-3 victory over Norwich City at the back end of 2018.
The Rams have been inconsistent over the past few months, but their biggest bright spark has been the form of midfielder Duane Holmes who has surprised most at Pride Park this season.

There was not much expectation on the 24-year-old to break in to Derby’s best eleven this season, yet Holmes has not only established himself as a regular but also as one of the side’s better performers.
Holmes has started 12 Championship games since the turn of the New Year. Capable of playing out wide or through the middle, his best performances have come as a linking midfielder with licence to get forward.
The former Scunthorpe man is an excellent dribbler, has an abundance of speed and his ability to pick a pass only seems to get better with each passing game. Holmes has a big future at Pride Park.
The Rams are currently placed in seventh spot in the Championship table, two points adrift of the top six. They will see their trip to an out-of-form Blackburn as a big opportunity to grab three points.
