According to a report by Bolton News, Bolton Wanderers can now command a fee for winger Dennis Politic who has been attracting the interests of Norwich City this summer.

The report states that Politic was able to move on a free this summer as a result of unpaid wages. Bolton, however, have now paid in full the wages due which has secured his immediate future at the club.

The Trotters have endured a disastrous past 12 months both on and off the pitch. They start the new season in League One following their relegation from the Championship, while financially they are suffering,

Wanderers have seen 14 players depart the club this summer, including the likes of Josh Vela, Sammy Ameobi and the talented Luca Connell who moved north of the border with Celtic.

But the latest news suggests they won’t see another top talent in Politic depart the club for nothing. For some while it had been dubbed a real possibility with Norwich among the reported suitors.

The Canaries won promotion to the Premier League last season off the back of some excellent recruitment from manager Daniel Farke and Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber.

The Norfolk side certainly know how to strike a bargain with the likes of influential first-team stars Emiliano Buendia, Moritz Leitner, Teemu Pukki and Onel Hernandez all arriving at the club on the cheap.

Politic, however, could be one that has slipped through their fingers and Norwich may end up regretting not signing the Romanian-born winger for free while they had the opportunity.

Politic, 19, enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Salford last season and he has impressed for Bolton during pre-season this summer. He is likely to feature in the starting eleven for their opening League One game at Wycombe.
