Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Italian radio station CRC that Napoli, under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, play the most beautiful football in Europe, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

Napoli are leading Serie A ahead of reigning champions Juventus and they currently look like the only side in Italy capable of preventing the Old Lady from recording a seventh straight title win.

Aside from getting results, including a current 10-game winning streak in Serie A, Napoli are playing some wonderful football and have gained widespread recognition.

Sarri, a former Empoli, Perugia and Verona manager, has been touted as a possible Arsene Wenger replacement at Arsenal, and Pochettino’s glowing praise should serve as an extra incentive to bring him in.

“Napoli can win the Scudetto. Their football under Sarri is fantastic and the most beautiful to watch in Europe. I can’t miss any of their matches in Naples,” Pochettino was quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

Arsenal have seemingly run their course under Wenger, with the North London club looking increasingly like missing out on a top four spot for the second successive season and their performance levels dropping.

The Gunners’ recent 3-0 Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City prompted plenty of criticism over their lack of desire, and a section of supporters have for some time advocated a change of direction.

Wenger, 68, will go down as an Arsenal icon but he is in danger of tarnishing his reputation at the club and, by staying on for yet another season, he risks alienating even more of the club’s younger generation.

Sarri represents a fine alternative, and in Pochettino’s own words, Napoli are currently playing a more beautiful brand of football than Tottenham, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The top teams have pushed Arsenal to one side as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, but with Sarri at the helm that could all change, as Napoli are showing how a team with limited resources can overcome and outperform Europe’s wealthiest clubs.
