Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has had his say on the manager of the year vote. And he has given the nod to Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino suggests Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson should win Manager of the Year when taking into context what he has achieved this term, ESPN reports.
In previous years when Manchester City won the league title, then managers Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini were strangely overlooked when it came to the end-of-season Manager of the Year award.
Considering Manchester City are likely to break the Premier League points record, along with the highest number of goals scored and distance between top and second place, Pep Guardiola, however, is an obvious candidate for the award.

But speaking to reporters, the Tottenham boss – while in agreement that the ex-Barcelona man would be a worthy winner – feels the job Hodgson has done at Crystal Palace makes him worthy of the honour.
“For me seriously, if we only see the trophies? Of course, it’s Guardiola. And with all the context? If we analyse every single context, every single club, with the circumstances, I think Roy Hodgson,” Spurs boss Pochettino explained.
“Everything Roy has been doing [impresses me]. He took charge of a very difficult situation at Palace and look how they are playing now.”

Hodgson has done an amazing job at Crystal Palace after the club began the campaign losing their first seven games, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table.
Crystal Palace’s gamble to appoint former Ajax boss Frank de Boer didn’t work out, but getting Hodgson in was a masterstoke from the Palace board – and the 70-year-old has worked wonders to lift them up to mid-table.
Following their 2-1 win at Stoke City on Saturday, the south London club climbed up to 11th with 41 points – meaning they have recorded 37 points from their last 26 games.

Since Hodgson came in on September 12, only eight Premier League teams have collected more points than Palace with Pochettino’s Spurs being one of them.
