Norwich City supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on the possibility of Ivo Pinto starting against Derby County, after manager Daniel Farke confirmed regular left-back Jamal Lewis is out injured.

“In addition to that we have to play the next three games without Jamal. A hamstring injury, a muscular injury. We expect to have him back probably after West Brom,” Farke told the Eastern Daily Press.

The Canaries boss was then asked on potential replacements and suggested right-back Max Aarons could switch over to the left, leaving a slot for Ivo Pinto, Felix Passlack or Ben Marshall.

Norwich fans, however, appear that keen on seeing Pinto return to the starting line-up. Here are a selection of Tweets on the subject:

Pinto joined Norwich as a Premier League player under then manager Alex Neil in January 2016, but the former Porto man has gradually fallen out of favour under Farke. The 28-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and he is expected to leave Carrow Road with youngster Max Aarons establishing himself as a regular first-teamer with Passlack or Marshall capable of filling in.

Pinto hasn’t started a Championship game since the 3-0 home defeat to Leeds United back in August. Norwich, currently sitting second in the table, will be keen to pick up all three points against a Derby side who haven’t won in three matches and are in danger of slipping out of the payoffs this weekend.
