Ipswich Town’s Jack Lankester has broken in to the first-team in recent weeks.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has predicted youngster Jack Lankester will become a top player, and is already one of the best prospects he has seen in a long time, East Anglian Daily Times reports.
“He is going to be a top, top player without a shadow of a doubt. He’s one of the best young ones I’ve seen in a long while. He’s going to be a really good one,” Lambert said.
Lankester came through the Ipswich youth ranks and made his debut for the first-team under former manager Paul Hurst, coming off the bench in the 2-0 home defeat to Queens Park Rangers in October.
After several other brief cameos off the bench, the 18-year-old finally made his first Championship start last week in the defeat at Nottingham Forest, and he again featured from the start against Stoke City.
The Tractor Boys went down to a 2-0 defeat against the Potters, but it could have been so different had Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland not managed to pull off a fantastic save to deny Lankester his first professional goal.

The talented youngster is capable of playing upfront or in a wide attacking role, and against Stoke he was Ipswich’s most creative player as he produced a team-high three key passes and took three shots (Whoscored). Lankester will no doubt feature more as the season progresses.
The defeat at Stoke has left the Suffolk side seven points adrift at the bottom of the Championship table, having picked up just two points from five league games under their new manager.
