Derby County could be on the lookout for a new manager.
Sam Allardyce during the press conference
According to the latest odds published by Sky Bet, Derby County are among the frontrunners for Sam Allardyce’s next managerial position after he resigned as England boss.
Allardyce – commonly known as Big Sam – resigned as England manager after just 67 days in the job after undercover investigation by the Telegraph captured him negotiating lucrative speaking engagements in the Far East worth a reported £400,000 and advising supposed investors in how to get around Football Association rules on third-party ownership.
It is unclear whether the former Bolton Wanderers, West Ham United and Sunderland boss will return to manage club football again, yet odds have been made available on his next destination.

Sky Bet have any Chinese Super League club listed as the favourite at 5/2, followed by struggling Sunderland at 11/4 and then surprisingly Derby County in third place with odds now available at 7/2.
The odds on Allardyce joining the Rams have shortened quite significantly over the past two days, possibly as a result of Derby suspending current boss Nigel Pearson until further notice.
Pearson has made a dreadful start to life at the East Midlands club, winning just one of nine Championship matches and setting an unwanted club record of just three league goals scored in that tme.

But reports in the BBC suggest the former Leicester City manager hasn’t been suspended due to results, yet instead for his behaviour following the 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers last weekend.
Popular figure Chris Powell took charge of the team’s 2-0 win at Cardiff City in midweek, yet with Pearson’s future unclear it remains to be seen whether his role as caretaker boss is to be extended.
Allardyce has managed in the Championship before, guiding both Bolton Wanderers and West Ham to promotion via the playoffs, but some could argue he is currently better than that level.
Derby currently sit in 20th position in the championship table, eight points behind the playoffs.
