Norwich City have utilised their youth academy this season.

Norwich City captain Timm Klose has singled out youth academy product Ben Godfrey for praise and suggests the 20-year-old will get his chance to shine sooner or later, the Eastern Daily Press report.
“Ben Godfrey is only 20 years old and is a fantastic character, in training he gives 100 percent, he doesn’t play every game but every time he is there and it shows we have some great young players with great character. That’s so important for football because I believe that karma is something that will come back to you,” Klose explained.
The Norwich academy products get their chance:
Norwich City boss Daniel Farke hasn’t been afraid to give the younger players opportunities to stake their claim for a regular starting spot this season in the absence of injured senior players.
Ivo Pinto, a former Norwich captain under then-boss Alex Neil, has barely featured this season due to a lack of fitness and in his place 18-year-old Max Aarons has come in and made the right-back slot his own.
Aarons isn’t the only Norwich academy graduate to feature this term, with Jamal Lewis, 20, starting ten of the Canaries’ Championship fixtures at left-back and Todd Cantwell, also 20, breaking through.

Cantwell has started Norwich’s past five games in an attacking midfield role, and his presence gives plenty of optimism for fellow midfielder Godfrey who is also looking to break in to the starting XI.
Right now, the likes of Alex Tettey, Moritz Leitner and Marco Steipermann are currently considered Norwich’s first-choice midfield options, but Godfrey has been called upon in cup action and has impressed.
Godfrey played the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 victory at Cardiff City and the 4-3 triumph over Wycombe Wanderers, and it’s likely he will be given another chance when Farke’s men visit Premier League side Bournemouth in the next round of the Carabao Cup.
