Hull City’s Kamil Grosicki has been linked with a January exit.
Norwich City should take advantage of the uncertainty over Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki’s future by making a move for the player and bolstering their promotion chances come next May.
According to a recent report in the Hull Daily Mail, Hull boss Nigel Adkins expects there to be interest in Grosicki after his near two-year loan move to Buraspor in the summer.
“We’ve had two windows since I’ve been here, the January one and the summer one, and both windows there was all sorts going on (with Kamil). Will all sorts go on again? Every chance. That’s just the way it is,” Adkins explained.
Grosicki’s near move to Buraspor last summer was reportedly designed to reduce Hull’s wage bill, and it has been suggested the Allam family could again aim to reduce overheads in January (Hull Daily Mail).
The Poland international is without doubt one of Hull’s most valuable assets, but having signed as a Premier League player, it is unlikely the Tigers can expect to retain him until his 2020 contract expiry date.
Norwich may not want to fiddle with their squad in January as they currently top the Championship table, but if there is one area where Daniel Farke’s side look light, then it’s in the wide areas.
Emiliano Buendia, Onel Hernandez and Todd Cantwell are considered the three first-team stars battling for the two attacking wide positions, but it only takes an injury to one to leave them without a back-up.
Grosicki is a Farke-type player with the 55-capped international both hardworking and importantly a team player. Last season he was pivotal in helping Hull avoid the drop with nine goals and five assists in 22 league starts.
Capable of playing on either wing, Grosicki, 30, would provide added competition at Carrow Road and with Hull’s current situation there could be an opportunity for the Canaries to pick him up on the cheap.
