Norwich City’s Max Aarons has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke says he welcomes Premier League interest in his top players as that shows the Norfolk club are doing something right, the Eastern Daily Press report.
The report names right-back Max Aarons as a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but Farke doesn’t seemed fazed by the speculation and adds that it is better than having no clubs rate his players.
“That is what we want because it proves we are doing something right at this club,” Farke responded when asked of interest in Max Aarons and potentially several other Norwich players.
“They are performing on a quality level. If other clubs think we have some proper players that is better than no clubs rate our players. I want my young players to keep their feet on the ground but we are also developing not only their technical skills but personality.”
Aarons has been one of the breakthrough stars in the Championship this season, with the 19-year-old coming into the Canaries’ starting XI ahead of former captain Ivo Pinto and performing exceptionally well.
The Norwich academy product has gone on to start 21 league games this season and has proven himself to be one of the best attacking fullbacks outside the Premier League, scoring twice and grabbing three assists.
While Aarons may have to work on the defensive side to his game, namely positioning and awareness, he has all the attributes needed to become a top-class attacking fullback.
Tottenham have made a habit of buying the best young prospects from the lower leagues such as Dele Alli or previously Gareth Bale, therefore their reported interest shows Aarons has enormous potential.
With Norwich currently second in the Championship with 20 games remaining, Farke won’t be contemplating losing any of his better players now, though the sale of James Maddison last summer to Leicester City suggests the cub could be willing to sell their top talent should they receive an offer they can’t refuse.
