Norwich City lost 1-0 at home to Stoke City Saturday.
Norwich City boss Daniel Farke couldn’t hide his frustration at the end of his side’s defeat to Stoke City as he believes the Canaries were extremely unfortunate not to pick up at least a point, the Eastern Daily Press report.
“I’m absolutely disappointed because when you watch the 90 minutes and you have to judge this game, it is normally a ridiculous result – even one point would be much too little out of this position,” Farke explained.
Norwich were the better team for the most part in their clash with the Potters, recording 15 shots to Stoke’s six and dominating possession with an impressive 68.9%.
But Stoke were dogged in defence and scored the only goal of the game, with Norwich defender Timm Klose putting into his own net after diverting a Cuco Martina cross past goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Norwich rallied, but couldn’t find a way past an impressive Jack Butland, as Gary Rowett’s side held on for a second away win of the season – ending Norwich’s eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
The Canaries have been solid and consistent over the past two months without really dominating the opposition, yet in their past two games – against Derby County and Stoke – they looked the superior side.
Farke is building an exciting team capable of playing good attacking football at Norwich. Despite this result, the Norwich are serious contenders for a top six finish this season.
