Sheffield United lost 2-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Sheffield United supporters have taken to Twitter to praise opponents West Bromwich Albion after watching the Baggies come from behind to claim an impressive 2-1 victory at Bramall Lane.
David McGoldrick fired Sheffield United into an early lead, and for the first 30 minutes or so it looked like the hosts could go on to extend their lead as they dominated proceedings against their promotion rivals.
But West Brom have quality in abundance and after Gareth Barry levelled the scores just before half-time, Darren Moore’s side went on to control the game and deservedly grabbed a winner via unlikely hero Kieran Gibbs.
Taking to Twitter, Blades supporters felt their side came unstuck against a better side on the night and it possibly showed what they need to do in January to go on and compete for a top two spot in the future.
While the Blades remain in fourth position in the Championship, in recent weeks their deficiencies have come to the fore as fellow promotions rivals Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Derby County all beat them.
Chris Wilder’s men have done well to compete near the top of the Championship, but to take that extra step they must start beating the teams around them and to do so the Blades arguably need more quality in the final third.

With Mark Duffy, Billy Sharpe, Leon Clarke and David McGoldrick all in their thirties, United could do with more youth and energy in the final third and a clinical goal scorer must be high on Wilder’s January wish-list.
As for West Brom, victory extends their unbeaten run to six games and they momentarily move up to third in the Championship table, three points behind Leeds United who travel to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
