Millwall’s Mahlon Romeo has been linked with a move to Rangers.

Millwall boss Neil Harris has told reporters for the South London Press how the club must invest in the squad if they are to keep hold of their better players such as Mahlon Romeo who has been linked with Rangers.
“Will it [interest and speculation] be any different this summer? People like Jake [Cooper], Mahlon [Romeo] and Ben [Thompson] are really developing. If you want to keep your best players hungry and focused – and keep them – you have to keep moving forward as a club,” Harris explained.
“We need to move forward and invest in the squad. We need to try and bridge the gap budget-wise from being second bottom in terms of budget to the six or seven clubs who might be above us budget-wise.”
Millwall finished 21st in the Championship table this season, narrowly avoiding the drop to League One. Despite their lowly finish, they have some talented players at their disposal such as Mahlon Romeo who made 40 Championship starts.
The Lions’ right-back was cited as a summer target for Rangers last month in The Express. Romeo, 23, is out of contract this summer, and the Gers are said to be looking at him as a potential long-term replacement for James Tavernier.
Millwall centre-back Jake Cooper is another who has previously been linked with a move to Ibrox. According to STV, Rangers saw a £3 million bid for the former Reading defender turned down.

Cooper has since gone on to sign a new deal for Millwall, yet the south London club haven’t managed to tie down Romeo and with his contract running out it seems they may face a battle to keep him at The Den.
Harris’s comments suggest his side must strengthen if they are to convince their better players to stick around. Rangers, though, represent a step up and if they come calling it could be hard for Romeo to turn them down.
