West Ham United’s Marko Arnautovic has been linked with Manchester United.
West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic says he hasn’t heard anything in regards to reported interest from Manchester United as questions are asked over his future, Sky Sports report.
A recent report by Sky Sports claims Manchester United are keen on signing the Austria international this summer, with the Hammers valuing the player at a whopping £50 million.
The former Stoke City man has only been at West Ham for 12 months, but after initially struggling to find his feet, he soon showed exactly why the east London club paid big for his services.
Arnautovic was West Ham’s talisman in their fight for Premier League survival, and he certainly justified his big-money move to the London Stadium with 11 goals and six assists in 28 league starts.
But with United now reportedly interest, West Ham have another battle on their hands as they look to fend off the Red Devils’ interest though Arnautovic himself has remained extremely coy on the situation.
“I am happy with my job. Whatever happens will happen. I’ve never heard anything,” Arnautovic told Sky Austria.
“That’s why I cannot say anything about it. The only thing that bothers me is that I am in a good health and that I am able to play football. I have a contract at West ham – that’s all we have to talk about.”
United boss Jose Mourinho will be looking to seriously bolster his squad this summer as he seeks to wrestle Premier League supremacy away from neighbours Manchester City.
United have already lined up a deal for Brazil international midfielder Fred, and they may see Arnautovic as an ideal forward to partner Romelu Lukaku in the attacking positions.
Arnautovic offers plenty of versatility among his ability to find the back of the net, with the ability to play as a lone forward or in an attacking wide role either side of a focal number nine.
