Simon Mignolet’s future at Liverpool is in doubt.

According to a report in the Mirror, Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet wants to hold talks with manager Jurgen Klopp to clarify his future after losing his number one spot to Loris Karius.
The Belgium international is currently on World Cup duty with Roberto Martinez’ side, but so far he has yet to feature for the Red Devils as Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has started all three group games.
Mignolet’s future at Anfield has been questioned on several occasions since he joined the club from Sunderland, with sections of the media and supporters alike believing he is error-prone and ultimately not good enough.

But to his credit, the 30-year-old has refused to back down from the challenge though now it seems he is at a crossroads as he told reporters he will seek talks with boss Jurgen Klopp over his future.
“I am going to look at my situation when I come back from the World Cup,” Mignolet told the Mirror.
“I didn’t play in the last few months at Liverpool, so after the World Cup I will look at everything. I can’t say much more. I don’t know how long I will have off after the tournament. I need to speak to the manager about that.”

A recent report in The Times claims Mignolet is one of four players Klopp is keen to sell this summer, with the German coach looking at balancing the books after spending big on Naby Keita and Fabinho.
Moreover, Klopp is seemingly in the market for a new shot-stopper with Roma’s Alisson and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak mentioned, further raising doubts over Mignolet’s future on Merseyside.
Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare looked to have possibly given the Belgian a way back in, but in truth neither goalkeeper is of a great standard and the Reds should seek a big improvement this summer.
