Liverpool supporters have every reason to be joyful after another huge twist in the Premier League title-race.
Before Saturday’s Premier League matches, Liverpool were arguably the third favourite for the title. Now, it’s a totally different story.
The Premier League title race threw up yet another twist as Chelsea lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace, whereas Manchester City later only managed a 1-1 draw at Arsenal.
It means Jose Mourinho’s men still lead the table on 69 points with just six games remaining, but a Liverpool win on Sunday at home to Spurs will move Brendan Rodgers’ men to the top, two points clear of Chelsea and four points clear of Manchester City.
Despite drawing at Arsenal, Manchester City could still move ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool if they win their two games in hand on their title rivals.
The subplot, however, is still yet to come as Liverpool host both Chelsea and Manchester City at Anfield over the next six weeks – meaning that if the Reds win every game from now until the end of the season, they will be crowned champions for the first time in 24 years.
As the traditional words go, it is in Liverpool’s hands.
Here are a number of Tweets from supporters celebrating Saturday’s results.
