Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater says new signing Islam Slimani put in a great performance and deserved his two goals in the 3-0 win over Burnley, the BBC report.
The Algeria international was making his Premier League debut for the Foxes after joining the club on a five-year deal from Sporting Lisbon for a club record fee on deadline day.
Slimani made his official debut for Leicester in the Champions League win over Club Brugges in midweek, yet he was handed his first Premier League start this weekend as the East Midlands club hosted Burnley.

And it couldn’t have gone much better the forward, grabbing two goals in a resounding 3-0 win.
Talking to the BBC after the game, England international Danny Drinkwater says his new teammate deserved his two goals for his endeavour and general hard work in fitting in to Claudio Ranieri’s side.
“It was a great performance, he deserved his goals. He is a player who has fitted in very well. He is a hard worker and deserves his goals,” Drinkwater explained.
“We have been away for the first time as a club and it was new for us. So it was a relief to come back and not suffer a European hangover. Getting three points was the most important thing.”

Leicester had a rocky start the season with defeats at both Hull City and Liverpool, yet their opening Champions League success was a big occasion for the club and for long spells against Burnley they looked like the side of last season which entertained so many.
Slimani will add an aerial threat to the side and he marked his league debut with two headed goals, the first coming from a Christian Fuch’s free kick and the second via a Jamie Vardy flick-on.
Up next for the Foxes is a home match with Chelsea in the EFL Cup in midweek before they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford next weekend.
