Norwich city’s Teemu Pukki has picked up a hamstring injury.

Daniel Farke, manager of Norwich looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Reading and Norwich City at Madejski Stadium on September 30, 2017 in Reading, England.

Some Norwich City supporters have taken to Twitter to lay the blame for Teemu Pukki’s injury with manager Daniel Farke after he claimed the club have been careful with his fitness.

The Finland striker picked up his injury while on international duty of the past week and could now be set to miss the next three to four weeks of Championship action.

It’s a bitter blow for Norwich as Pukki was instrumental during the club’s recent unbeaten run and he currently tops the club’s scoring charts with five league goals in 12 appearances.

But Pukki has featured in every game despite the Canaries having options in reserve, and supporters feel Farke should have been more careful as to avoid his subsequent injury.

Aside from spearheading Norwich’s attack this season, the 28-year-old featured for Finland during the September international break and was away with his country again over the past week.

The Canaries have Jordan Rhodes and Mario Vranic who can also feature upfront, but Farke has been keen to keep Pukki in contention and refused to substitute him even when it became obvious he needed resting.

Nelson Oliviera is another option Norwich have in reserve, yet the Portuguese striker has yet to feature for the first-team this season after falling out of favour with German coach Farke.

The Canaries travel to fellow playoff challengers Nottingham Forest this weekend, and their task of picking up a positive result from the City Ground has been made harder by Pukki’s latest setback.
