Reading have been linked with Manchester United’s Joel Pereira.

Reading manager Jose Gomes has told reporters that his side cannot lose time over transfer speculation when asked about the potential arrival of Manchester United’s Joel Pereira on loan, the Reading Chronicle reports.
“In this period rumours are normal. But we lose time if we start talking about rumours. When things are in our hands we can talk like we can about Lewis Baker and Ejaria because they are here. We keep our focus on the things that are really important,” Gomes explained.
The Reading manager was appointed over the festive period and he has already gone about changing the squad during the current transfer window, bringing in Lewis Baker and Ovie Ejaria on loan until the end of the campaign.
The Royals are currently in the Championship relegation zone, five points from safety and in desperate need of a boost following a run of ten league games without a win.
Reading are struggling to find the net, scoring just 28 goals in 26 games, and they have one of the worst defensive records in the league with only three teams shipping more than their 41 goals conceded.

Gomes has a big job on his hands, and adding a regular number one may well now be among his top priorities with Reading goalkeeping trio Vito Mannone (six starts), Sam Walker (seven starts) and Anssi Jaakkola all failing to impress.
Pereira, 22, has spent the past six months on loan at Portuguese side Vitoria de Setubal and he has impressed when called upon, conceding 12 goals in nine league starts.
Having returned to Manchester United, the Portugal U21 international is seemingly available to move out on loan again and Gomes will know all about his capabilities during his time back in his native Portugal.
