Fulham’s Tom Cairney has struggled with fitness at times this season.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic believes midfielder Tom Cairney will soon be back to his best after finally completing a full training session without any niggling injury concerns, Fulhamfc.com report.
The talented midfielder is without doubt a key player for the Cottagers and he has certainly been missed at times this season as injuries and fitness worries have disrupted his rhythm and importantly game-time.
Cairney has made just 15 Championship starts this season, and his absence earlier on in the campaign was a predominant reason behind the club’s struggling form and lack of confidence.

Speaking to the club’s official website, however, Jokanovic now believes his midfield talisman’s troubles are behind him and backs the player to rediscover his top form.
“Tom Cairney started working with us today,” Jokanović told reporters.
“He lost many training sessions. Today he finished the work with the team without any problems. In the last few months we had many up-down situations with him.”
“I expect he is going to be okay now and he is going to improve his fitness in the days and weeks that are ahead of us, and we expect we can enjoy the best version of Tom Cairney in the future.”

Cairney played a pivotal role in Fulham’s charge to the playoffs last season, scoring 13 goals and grabbing a further 10 assists as Jokanovic’s men lost out to Reading at the semi-final stage.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, but Fulham have managed to keep hold of him and it’s a decision which could prove to be an astute one in the coming months.
The West London side are currently on a five-game winning streak in the Championship and now find themselves in fifth spot and only six points behind automatic promotion chasers Derby County in second place.
