Ipswich Town and Barnsley have been linked with Exeter City’s Christy Pym.
According to a report by the Devon Live, Ipswich Town and Championship newcomers Barnsley have been linked with a move for Exeter City goalkeeper Christy Pym.
Both clubs could make a new shot-stopper among their top priorities this summer. Barnsley’s Adam Davies is out of contract this summer, with Devon Live citing Stoke City and Bristol City among the suitors.
Ipswich, meanwhile, look set to offload Dean Gerkin as his contract expires this summer while number one Bartosz Bialkowski has seemingly set his sights on a move to a higher league.
A report in the East Anglian Daily Times this week claimed Bialkowski has become the subject of heavy interest from three Championship clubs, with the Poland international looking to move on.
Ipswich’s relegation to League One makes them vulnerable to Championship clubs poaching their better players. Paul Lambert’s side, however, can do the same with League Two’s top stars looking to move up the ladder.
Pym has earned a reputation as one of the best young goalkeepers in League Two. He has made over 150 appearances for Exeter after breaking through to the first team back in 2014.
The 24-year-old helped Exeter reach back-to-back playoffs in 2017 and 2018, but after missing out this past season it now seems Pym could be ready to move on when his contract expires this summer.
