Ipswich Town have been linked with Gillingham’s Thomas Holy.

According to a report by the East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich Town are closing in on a deal for Gillingham’s Thomas Holy who, 12 months ago, was heavily linked to Premier League giants Arsenal.
The Tractor Boys have announced their retained list for next season. Among those departing Portman Road is goalkeeper Dean Gerkin after the 33-year-old’s contract at the club expires next month.
Fellow Ipswich goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is reportedly attracted Championship interest and is ready to move on from the club following their relegation to League One.
It leaves boss Paul Lambert needing to bring in at least one shot-stopper this summer, and the EADT claims Gillingham’s 6ft 9inch number one Thomas Holy has been targeted for the job.
The Czech ‘keeper is a former Sparta Prague favourite and he is out of contract this summer after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with Gillingham in January 2017.

Holy has made a big impact at the League One club. This time last year, the Mirror claimed several Premier League clubs were keen on signing him including Arsenal, Everton, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
A dream move to the top flight failed to materialise for the 27-year-old.
However, he may now have the chance to further his career at Portman Road with Ipswich expected to fight for an immediate return to the Championship.
