Everton’s Yerry Mina is yet to feature for the club.

Yerry Mina poses as a new Everton FC player on August 9, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

Some Everton supporters have taken to Twitter to show their frustration at news of Yerry Mina’s latest injury setback which rules him out of this weekend’s clash at home to promoted side Fulham.

The Toffees signed the Colombia international from Barcelona in the summer, with Mina heading to Goodison Park alongside fellow former Barca players Lucas Digne and midfielder Andre Gomes.

With the trio on the field there will be plenty of optimism for Everton going forward, but right now both Gomes and Mina are struggling with fitness with the latter suffering a setback following an incident on the training ground.

Winger Bernard is said to have accidentally stamped on the defender’s foot, leaving question marks over a potential metatarsal fracture which could side-line him until beyond the next international break.

“Yes two days ago he suffered a stamp on his foot in a moment with Bernard. He stopped yesterday and today, but we hope early next week he will start again,” Silva told the Liverpool Echo.

Everton fans taking to Twitter clearly demonstrate their frustrations at the situation, drawing on former experiences of players suffering with slight injuries which later cause long-term absences from their first-team.

Mina has already been a big miss for Marco Silva’s side as Everton have conceded 11 goals in six Premier League matches to date, with three of those coming in a 3-1 home defeat to West Ham United.

The 6ft 5inch World Cup star would no doubt improve Everton’s backline by giving them more power and pace at the back, but just getting him out there and up to speed should be the club’s main focus right now.

Fulham will fancy their chances of grabbing a positive result on their trip to Merseyside this weekend, with the Cottagers performing well on their return to the top-flight.
