Former player Ian Wright took to social networking site Twitter in order to lavish praise on new Arsenal signing Granit Xhaka as he scored his first goal for the club in the 4-1 win at Hull City.
The Gunners topped off a decent week by putting Hull to the sword in-front of their own supporters, with Alexis Sanchez (2), Theo Walcott and Xhaka finding the net in a resounding win.
With plenty of competition for places in Arsenal’s ranks, new signing Xhaka started the game on the bench as boss Arsene Wenger opted for a midfield paring of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.

The Switzerland international came on for the latter with 25 minutes remaining, and he left it late to make his big introduction as he put the gloss on a superb Arsenal win with a 30-yard screamer minutes from time.
Taking to social media site Twitter, Ian Wright admits he was delighted to see Arsenal score from range rather than try and walk the ball in and suggests Xhaka should be a regular starter for the side.
It’s not often Arsenal score goals from range as often prefer to work the ball in behind the opposition’s defence, yet on this occasion with the game already won Xhaka took aim and hit the target.
Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka
The holding midfielder has made an impressive start to life in North London, yet despite his quality there is no guarantee he will become a regular such is the competition for places in the squad.
The likes of Cazorla, Coquelin, Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny are vying for the two holding midfield slots, while long-term Bournemouth loanee Jack Wilshere can also be considered an option to play there.
